My First Blog Post

I am Kim Allen, and of course I want you to hire me. I would be a great asset to your company, and want to be the newest member of your team. Here is what I am looking for and what you can do for me. I am seeking an entry level position anywhere in the United States with Indiana being near the end on my list. The reason I prefer to find a position not in Indiana, you may ask, is because I grew up there. I am ready to move and find adventure in a new city and state. I want to take my skill and experience and use it in a new town and market, which brings me to what I can do for you.

My personal experience in PR has been great and if I may say so myself extremely successful. I have held 2 previous internships, and currently employed in a 3^rd all of which have been in completely different PR settings. All my internships have offered me the chance to grow and develop my skills and confidence. I have been successful in having press releases published (check them out here), pitched stories to media outlets-primarily in the Chicago area, planned events, managed Social Medias on behalf of clients and employers, contributed to in office publications and much more (please refer to my resume).

With my experience and confidence I have also developed a tremendous work ethic. For example, right now I am currently working 3 different jobs. My internship, at Barnes & Noble and an old summer position I held 2 years ago. All 3 jobs are part time, but do have a tendency to overlap. Some weeks I have a standard 5 day work week, and standard day hours. Other weeks I may have completely different hours and may work every day. Keeping up with 3 jobs can be extremely difficult, but being someone who enjoys being busy and putting in 110% in every job I find it easy to manage. I want to able bring my work ethic, along with my confidence and experience to your company.

Now, I’ve decide enough with the formalities of why I am so great for your company. I want you to get a glimpse into my personality-hopefully you will get the experience to actually meet me to fully appreciate it. Born and raised in Indiana, and dying to get out. I graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with my BA in Communications, which could be one of the best decisions I ever made, Boiler Up. Purdue provided me with some great opportunities to get involved and even better memories. I have always lived the motto of “work hard, play hard.” And there are few things that I find better in life than family, friends, a great book and a good drink.
